What We Believe

Our Vision

We assist families in overcoming adversities to rebuild their lives, reconcile their relationships, and restore their families through biblical teaching, discipleship, faith-based mentorship, training, coaching and recovery services.

Our Values

Hope House For Our Families is a nonprofit ministry that uses the Bible as its theological foundation and to shape its core values.

THE BIBLE
We believe that the entire Bible is the inspired word of God and that it is without error. It is the final authority for faith and life. (2 Timothy 3:15, 2 Peter 1:20-21, Matthew 5:18, John 16:12-13).

JESUS
We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten son, who became flesh to reveal God to man and to become the savior of the lost world. (1 Peter 4:5, Romans 14:9, 2 Timothy 4:1). We believe in one God, eternally existing in three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. They are equal in power and glory. (Deuteronomy 6:4, 2 Corinthians 13:14). We believe that the blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the sole basis for the forgiveness of sin. Therefore, salvation occurs only when a person places his or her faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as the sufficient payment for his or her sin, and our justification is made sure by Jesus’ literal, physical resurrection from the dead.

HOLY SPIRIT
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit. He indwells Christians and enables them to live godly lives. We further believe that biblical examples of the Holy Spirit’s power and gifts are available to believers today. (John 1:12-13; 3:3-16; 5:24; 10:28-29; 1 Peter 1:23). We believe that the believers are the church, the body of Christ, of which Jesus Christ is the head. The members of the church are those who have trusted by faith the work of Jesus Christ on the cross. We recognize believers’ baptism and communion as Biblical means of worship in the church. (Ephesians 1:22-23, 1 Corinthians 12:12-14, 2 Corinthians 11:2, Acts 14:27, 1 Timothy 3:1-3, Matthew 28:19-20, Acts 2:41-42, Acts 18:8, 1 Corinthians 11:23-26)

HUMANITY
We believe that mankind was created in the image of God to have fellowship with him but through Adam’s sin inherited a sinful nature and became alienated in that relationship. As a result, man is completely incapable of regaining a right relationship with God through his own effort. (Genesis 1:26-27, Romans 3:22-23, Romans 5:12, Ephesians 2:1-3, 12).

FAMILY
We believe in the sacredness of marriage between one man & one woman and family commitment. We promote strong family values. (Ephesians 5:31-33; Ephesians 6:1-4; Hebrews 13:4; Matthew 19:5 Leviticus 18:22; Genesis 2:24)

  2. The Scriptures Inspired. The Scriptures both Old and New Testament are the inspired, infallible revelation of God to man and the authority of faith and conduct.

  3. The One True God. The one true God has revealed Himself as the “I AM,” the Creator, and Redeemer of mankind.

  4. The Deity of Jesus. The Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. The Scriptures declare His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, death and resurrection, and ascension to the right hand of God.

  14. The Final Judgment. There will be a final judgment at which all people will be judged.

  15. The New Heaven and Earth. All of God’s children will reign forever in a new heaven and a new earth.

  16. Statement of Marriage. We believe that because God our Creator established marriage as a sacred institution between one, natural, born man and one, natural, born woman, the idea that marriage is a covenant only between one man and one woman has been the traditional definition of marriage for all of human history (“Traditional Definition of Marriage”). Because of the longstanding importance of the Traditional Definition of Marriage to humans and their relationships and communities, and, most importantly, the fact that God has ordained that marriage be between one man and one woman, as clearly conveyed in God’s inerrant Scriptures, including for example in Matthew 19:4-6 where in speaking about marriage Jesus referred to the fact that “he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,” the Ministry hereby creates this policy, which shall be known as the “Marriage Policy.”

Under this Ministry’s Marriage Policy, the Traditional Definition of Marriage is the only definition of marriage that will be recognized or accepted. No officer, employee, servant, agent, or any person, corporation, organization, or entity under the direction or control of this Ministry shall commit any act or omission, or make any decision whatever, that would be inconsistent with, or that could be perceived by any person to be inconsistent with, full support of this Ministry’s Marriage Policy and strict adherence to the Traditional Definition of Marriage rather than any alternative to the Traditional Definition of Marriage.

This Ministry’s Marriage Policy specifically prohibits acts or omissions including but not limited to permitting any Ministry assets or property, whether real property, personal property, intangible property, or any property or asset of any kind that is subject to the direction or control of the Ministry, to be used in any manner that would be or could be perceived by any person to be inconsistent with this Ministry’s Marriage Policy or the Traditional Definition of Marriage, including but not limited to permitting any Ministry facilities to be used by any person, organization, corporation, or group that would or might use such facilities to convey, intentionally or by implication, what might be perceived as a favorable impression about any definition of marriage other than the Traditional Definition of Marriage.

We believe this Ministry’s Marriage Policy is based upon God’s will for human life as conveyed to us through the Holy Scriptures, upon which this Ministry has been founded and anchored, and this Marriage Policy shall not be subject to change through popular vote; referendum; prevailing opinion of Partners or the general public; influence of or interpretation by any government authority, agency, or official action; or legal developments on the local, state, or federal level.
